No retreat from AIDS funding, XVIII AIDS conference demands
Donors claim there are insufficient funds for HIV/AIDS, yet millions of pounds do appear from nowhere to help their corporate friends. This was in reference to the 110 billion Euros that “appeared from nowhere” to boost the Greek economy.
Donors have cut down the budget on HIV AIDS funding, yet the previous funds could hardly meet the needs of those infected with HIV/AIDS.
2,000 activists used the 2010 AIDS conference in Vienna as a platform to remind donors on their seemingly empty promises towards HIV AIDS funding. They carried numerous banners stating that there is “No Retreat for Donors”. |
